About
Welcome to the journey. I’m Jack, a slow and steady endurance athlete living life with Multiple Sclerosis. I have completed several Ironman triathlons, a dozen or so 70.3 triathlons, a 10 mile open water swim, marathons, half marathons and some century rides. But all those were single day events. On July 1, 2027, I will be doing an endurance event unlike any other I have done before.
On my 67th birthday, I’ll be rolling out of Banff, Canada, to tackle the ultimate self-supported test: the 2,700-mile Great Divide Mountain Bike Route down to Antelope Wells, New Mexico. The plan is to maintain a fairly high-mileage pace to complete the full route in just 40 days.
But this ride isn’t just about pushing physical limits, enduring high-altitude passes, or finding the perfect remote sunrise over a cup of camp coffee. I am riding with a mission to raise $30,000 for the One Bike Foundation. Every mile pedaled and every foot of elevation gained is dedicated to fueling the work we do to support others living with Multiple Sclerosis and impacting our community.
Through short and frequent posts, I will be documenting my preparation, the ride itself, and the meaningful cause behind it. I look forward to your feedback and support to help guide me all the way from Banff to Antelope Wells.
